Spring is almost here.  I have a few winter photo’s yet to post, but with spring just around the corner, there will be more to come.  We did get to the primates in February and it was a treat to have them almost all to ourselves.

It is interesting that their behavior is different when there is not a crowd of people around.  A large silverback who normally ignores everyone, was taking interest in any small kids walking near.  He would still totally ignore all adults, but would turn and look at the children.  You could not help but wonder what he was thinking about.  I was a treat to see some interaction taking place.  I would guess that with a crowd of people, they must just become a blur of background visual noise.

It can really be the off times, when others prefer to stay away, that the Zoo can be the most interesting.
